Student Skill Up- Lifting the Lid on Scholarly Publishing with Dan Johnston and Tammy Ivin

As scholars, we all engage with peer-reviewed publications, but few of us know how an article becomes peer-reviewed and ends up in a database. Both National University librarians, Tammy Ivins and Dan Johnston will lift the lid on scholarly publishing to help you understand the scholarly process.

About

As scholars, we all engage with peer-reviewed publications, but few of us know how an article becomes peer-reviewed and ends up in a database. Both National University librarians, Tammy Ivins and Dan Johnston will lift the lid on scholarly publishing to help you understand more about the scholarly communication process, what publishers want, how bibliometrics impact scholarly communication, and how you can best navigate this landscape. In addition to providing context and details to the world of scholarly communication, Tammy and Dan will have time to answer your questions.

For students unable to attend the live session, if you register for the event, our office will give you a copy of the recording. If you have additional questions, please reach out to GSSC@nu.edu. If accessibility services such as ASL interpreting are needed, please contact SAS@nu.edu at least 5 business days prior to the event.
