Tiered Permissions Resources

What are the faculty system roles in Anthology SIS?

  1. Faculty

  2. Tier 3 Faculty

  3. Hybrid/Onsite Faculty

The standard Faculty role limits editing in course assignments, quizzes, and instructional materials (Content). Faculty will have access to:

  • Customize discussion prompts

  • Post announcements (text, video, images, attachments, etc.)

  • Manage dates (due dates, start dates, end dates)

  • Add calendar items

  • Create intelligent agents

  • Schedule and record Zoom sessions

  • Provide grades/feedback (text, video, audio, inline feedback)

  • Manage groups

  • View classlist and class progress

  • Email from classlist and grades

  • Release final grades â€‹

What is the role of faculty with “Tier 3 Faculty” access?

The Tier 3 Faculty role is for faculty who have completed the Tier 3 Advanced Course Editing training. This role gives faculty advanced course editing permissions. Tier 3 faculty will support their schools in making hotfixes and curriculum updates between course development cycles.

  • Tier 3 Faculty role will not be available in NCUOne due to differences in system architecture.

  • Faculty are nominated by their school dean’s office to complete Advanced Course Editing training. Each school determines its own strategy for Tier 3 faculty use and course maintenance.

Why is NU adopting a tiered approach for faculty system roles?

  • Consistency across individual and group faculty

  • Ensure alignment with the expectations of our regulatory agencies (WSCUC, Department of Education, ADA, program-specific accreditation, etc.)

  • Establish consistency/quality across courses for a positive student experience

  • Adequately train faculty for their responsibilities within the LMS
