Faculty Textbooks

Faculty-facing resources regarding textbooks and digital assets.

Physical Textbook Requests

Faculty are able to receive one (1) complimentary copy of the textbook for their upcoming course if the course does not have a digital version available.

VitalSource Bookshelf

VitalSource Educator allows free eBook access for faculty. Instructors can create an account with VitalSource to get an online copy of the book if it is available. It could take a few days to get your account approved since the publisher will need to verify instructor credentials.

Textbook Change Request

If the assigned textbook is the out of date or out of print edition with no DART eBook available, then a Textbook Change Request should be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the next course offering.

DART eBook Program - Undergrad

The Day One Access to Resources and Text (DART) program is offered in selected National University courses, where students have immediate access to an embedded electronic textbook (eBook). Instructors will have access to the DART eBook, if it is embedded in their course, at least one week prior to the start of the course.

Faculty Textbooks Department

The Faculty Textbooks department supports requests from processing faculty desk copies and embedding e-books into online courses, to textbook management within SOAR and assisting with third-party integrations.
