ATA Workshop: Inclusive Excellence, Agency, and Accountability through Open Pedagogy
National University employs a dynamic strategy to provide high-quality learning resources based on Equity, Excellence, Engagement, and Efficiency, and tremendous progress has been made in adopting low-cost open educational resources (OER) and even in designing courses based upon OER.
This workshop explores the ways in which Open Pedagogy expands upon the freedom that OER provides to strengthen inclusive excellence for our adult learners. Open pedagogy invites them to become part of the teaching process itself and participate in the co-creation of knowledge. Faculty can apply open pedagogy approaches in a wide variety of ways. This workshop will explore three of those Open Pedagogy instructional strategies:
Strategy 1: Renewable Assignments
Strategy 2: Co-Constructed and Student-Generated Content
