About

This module is fully asynchronous and is designed to support onsite faculty members who are transitioning to online instruction. The Onsite to Online module provides an overview of the tools and skills you will use as you teach your upcoming courses online in Blackboard. You may learn at your own pace and utilize all the resources whenever needed. Note: There is no active facilitator in this module to check on your progress or provide grades. Also, there are no required meetings or any other synchronous components for this module.

Topics include:

  • Updating your course syllabus and outline
  • Posting announcements
  • Setting up the grade center, retention center, and online office hours
  • Grading student work
  • Managing special circumstances

Within the Onsite to Online module, you will learn by reading job aids, watching videos, and gain best practices in teaching adult students. You may also apply your skills by setting up and facilitating within the course you are teaching.

*Please note: Faculty will need to use NU email to receive communication regarding this training.

NOTE: Module does not fulfill NU Faculty Foundations Blackboard Training requirement.

If you have any questions regarding the Online to Onsite module, please reach out to the Office of Teaching and Learning Strategies at teachingstrategies@nu.edu
