About
Dear Esteemed Program Directors and Course Leads,
During the Fall of 2020, we sent a call for Program volunteers to integrate Packback, an adaptive discussion platform, into a select number of Programs. The pilot opportunity aligns with NU 2023: Precision Education as an Operational Strategy, improving student engagement/success through adaptive instruction.
The Programs selected and integrating the platform are the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management, led by Dr. James Juarez; Master of Science in Educational and Instructional Technology, led by Brian Arnold; Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership led by Michelle Browning; and the MBA, led by Dr. Farhang Mossavar- Rhamni. These Programs successfully launched the Packback platform in their January, February, and March courses. We are encouraged by the results of the pilot! Your colleagues will share their experiences and highlight some of the student and faculty perspectives. Our Packback partners will also be in attendance and provide an overview of the platform.

About Packback
Packback is an inquiry-driven learning platform and pedagogy that teaches students how to ask great open-ended questions at high levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Using A.I., Packback acts as a “Digital TA” to support faculty in facilitating online discussions while offering students instant writing feedback. Packback’s A.I. automates faculty administrative tasks such as grading and moderation, while enabling instructors to scale high quality feedback with consistency. The platform is utilized in both online, hybrid, and face-to-face environments.
