Effective Feedback
Connecting with Students
Timely feedback on assignments is one of the most meaningful ways to connect with students and help guide their growth and academic success. Feedback can be provided in multiple ways: using a rubric, using the built-in annotation tool in the LMS, or through audio or video recordings. Feedback should be presented promptly, be aligned to the assignment rubric and/or instructions, and provide meaningful, actionable suggestions for student success.

While providing substantive feedback is a requirement, use concise language to emphasize what was done well and point out areas for growth, maintaining a constructive tone throughout. Download the Best Practices document, below, to review a few examples of how to incorporate the Community of Inquiry model to provide effective feedback.
